With over 15 years of hands-on building experience each project is delivered with honest communication, skilled craftsmanship and genuine care for every home we work in.
Hobbs Home Building Co. was built on a simple belief: that building work should feel manageable, not stressful. Andy brings over 15 years of hands-on construction experience, with deep expertise in extensions, structural work, renovations and new builds. Jayne ensures the business runs smoothly behind the scenes — keeping projects organised, clients informed and everything on track from start to finish.
We’re based in the South West and work across Devon and Cornwall, taking on projects for homeowners who want a building company they can genuinely rely on.
We’re straightforward about costs, realistic about timelines and quick to flag anything that needs your attention. No surprises, no jargon — just clear, plain-English updates throughout your project.
We don’t cut corners on materials or workmanship, and we take real pride in the details. The things that separate a good build from a truly great one. Every project we take on is treated with the same care.
We coordinate every trade, so you’re never juggling subcontractors or chasing separate specialists. Our team handles everything, giving you a joined-up approach from groundbreak to final snag.
Our core services cover the full spectrum of residential building work. We specialise in house extensions, full home renovations, open-plan conversions, and complete new build homes across Devon and Cornwall. Whatever the scale of your project, we bring the same methodical, quality-focused approach.
We work with homeowners at all stages of the planning process — whether you have architect’s drawings ready to go or you’re still working out whether a project is feasible. We’re happy to walk you through options, help you think through the practicalities and give you an honest view of what’s achievable within your budget.
We’re based in the South West and have spent over a decade building relationships with homeowners, architects and suppliers across the region. Our work takes us across Devon and Cornwall — from Plymouth, Plymstock and Plympton to Ivybridge, South Hams, Tavistock, Saltash and Yelverton, and throughout the wider Devon and Cornwall countryside.
Knowing the area well means we understand local planning requirements, building styles and the particular challenges that come with South West properties. That local knowledge, combined with our experience and our standards, is what makes us the building company homeowners across the region come back to and recommend.
If you’re thinking about an extension, renovation or new build anywhere across Devon or Cornwall, we’d love to hear from you. Andy is happy to talk through your ideas, give honest guidance on what’s achievable and provide a free, no-obligation quote — whether you’re ready to start tomorrow or still in the early planning stages.
We’re a small team, which means you’ll always speak to someone who knows your project — not a call handler, not a salesperson. Just the people who’ll be building your home.
